Young Wexford native wins under 18 All-Ireland pool title

A young Wexford native is making strides in the world of pool…

Denny Bookle, who plays out of the New Ross Workman’s Club and is apart of the Wexford Pool team, was crowned an All-Ireland Champion over the weekend.

The All-Irelands took place in J-Mac’s Pool and Snooker Club in Navan, Meath.

Wexford native Denny Bookle defeated Cillian Smith in the All-Ireland final, on a score-line of 6-3.

In the semi-final of the U-18 Singles Competition, Bookle defeated Leo Reuland comprehensively with a 5-1 win and in the previous game, in the quarter final, Bookle defeated Ben McMenamin on a score-line of 5-2.

It’s not the first time Bookle has tasted success this month either. Earlier this month, Bookle played out the deciding frame – and won it – to defeat the English when he was part of the Irish under 18 team which won the European title.

Bookle’s oponent in the All-Ireland final, Cillian Smyth, was also on that Ireland pool team won the European title earlier this month.
