Wexford name their u20 hurling team to face Kilkenny on Saturday

Wexford travel to Kilkenny this Saturday for the opening round of the Leinster u-20 hurling championship…

Wexford will take on Kilkenny at 2pm in Nowlan Park, Saturday, March 30th.

Although the have not attained silverware since 2015, it does serve as an exciting competition for Wexford and their supporters. Since 2017, Wexford have lost five Leinster u-20 hurling finals.

Last year, Wexford lost out to a strong Offaly team in the Leinster final and in 2022, Wexford narrowly lost out to Kilkenny by the minimum in that Leinster final.

Keith Rossiter was Wexford’s manager last year, but since he stepped up to the Wexford Senior team, another manager had to take the reigns of the team.

Buffer’s Alley clubman, Aidan O’Connor, has named his team to take on Kilkenny this weekend.

Wexford are in a three-team group for the round robin stage of the championship, with Laois being the other county involved. The group winner will progress directly to a Leinster semi-final; the runner-up will go to a quarter-final, and the third-placed team will go into a preliminary quarter-final.

Entry to Saturday’s match is by ticket only. Tickets must be purchased online here. They are not available in shops. They cost €10 each (no concessions for OAPs or students). U16s go free and do not require a ticket.
