Labour announce new candidate for Rosslare district ahead of upcoming local elections

Labour’s has Corish launched his campaign for Rosslare Local Election in the forthcoming local elections for Rosslare Municipal District…

Damien Corish, aged 39, is from Killinick and is a first time candidate. It’s 10 years since Labour last had a local election candidate in Rosslare, Damien who works in customer services for Sky in the South East region told Wexford Weekly:

“I am dismayed at how poorly our district has been represented in the last 5 years. From Wellington Bridge to Rosslare Harbour and from Kilmore to Taghmon there’s a widespread feeling that this district is underachieving and that local authority members elected in 2019 are not working as they should. Local Authority members need to focus on what councils do best. June’s election gives you a chance to pass a verdict on our outgoing councillor’s record. It’s time for real change,” he said.

Speaking to Wexford Weekly, Mr Corish said:

“I am energised by the opportunity to represent my neighbours and community. From roads to public transport and restoring our rail services and building more local authority houses, there’s a lot of work to be done. Give me that chance and I won’t let you down,” he said.
