Wexford councilor only putting up limited election posters – and they are designed by his family

A Wexford County councilor is limiting the number of signs that he is placing across the neighborhood…

The Local Elections will take place on Friday, June 7th.

Across all counties, there are signs going up on lamp-posts and poles. Every corner you take, you’re bound to see a sign of a budding County councilor wearing their freshest clothes and sporting their biggest, most friendly smile.

One current Wexford councilor who is part of the Independents is Leonard Kelly. For this year’s elections, Kelly decided to take a different approach to his competitors.

Kelly’s family, including his wife and kids, have designed some promotional posters. They have hand-designed the election posters and painted the posters themselves. A small number of them were then placed up across Wexford town.

In today’s digital age and with a green agenda that exists nationwide, it does come as a surprise to see that still so many councilors opt for roadside signs to get their image and points across. It wouldn’t be surprising to see this approach being changed by parties in the future.
