Wexford FC defeated Kerry FC last night…
Wexford FC won on a score-line of 2-0 in Ferrycarrig Park on Friday evening. They will now look forward to a quick turn-around, where they will take on Cobh at home on Monday.
Wexford FC’s goals against Kerry came from Thomas Oluwa on the 23rd minute mark and then another first-half goal from Mark Hanratty less than ten minutes later on the 32nd minute mark.
Another one of the star performers on the night was Mikie Rowe, who picked up the Man of the Match award, sponsored by Campion Insurance.
“We’ve only lost one in 11 or 12 games. We’re delighted with the clean sheet. We need to put a run together now. We got to back it up Monday. It was a decent performance but we need to back it up Monday.”
“We want to play games. You wait all week for a Friday night game, so to be able to play Monday night is brilliant. I think that’s the great thing; if you lose a match or draw a match, you want to get back at it Monday. We want to put a run together now. The quicker the games come the better. We still have six games before the break. We should have done that already, but we definitely have the ability to do really well,” Mikie said.
Wexford FC currently sit on 5th position of the table. Wexford FC play Cobh Ramblers, who are currently 7th in the table of 10, on Monday evening in Ferrycarrig Park at 7:45pm.
