There’s no stopping this young Wexford man…
This year, Denny Bookle has been crowned European Team Champion, All Ireland Junior Champion, and now World Masters Champion.
It’s not a bad year for the Wexford youngster to say the least.
Denny Bookle came back from 5-1 down to win the World Masters final 6-5 against the brilliant Jake Castaldi from Malta.
Jake had a couple of opportunities to close out the match but wasn’t able to get over the line. The Wexford man kept his cool to take advantage and stay in the match.
Jake broke dry in the deciding frame and just like he did in the deciding frame of the European team final earlier this year, Denny held himself together to take out a brilliant finish and win the title.
Denny is a credit to his family in the way he conducts himself on and off the table. He has an old head on young shoulders and with his humble and unassuming nature he sets a great example to all players in how to conduct themselves.
Speaking about the win, the Irish pool association said:
“We feel extremely lucky to have Denny representing the Irish Pool Association and we couldn’t be prouder of him. Thank you, Seamus and Geraldine, for encouraging and allowing him to fulfil what most can only dream of – he has made a lot of Irish Pool supporters very happy tonight and we couldn’t be more thrilled for him”
Congratulations Denny, enjoy the win!
