Watch: In-form Rory O’Connor scores great goal without his hurl

St Martins took on Oylegate-Glenbrien in Chadwicks Wexford Park over the weekend…

One of the highlights of the game was Rory O’Connor’s goal in the second half, which put St Martins into the driving seat.

O’Connor lost his hurl, but he still managed to catch the ball over the Oylegate-Glenbrien defender before showing his football skills by kicking the ball into the back of the net.

O’Connor has brought his excellent inter-county form into this year’s Wexford Senior Hurling Club championship. There’s no doubt that if he continues with this form, and if he stays injury free, St Martins will be a hard team to beat in the latter stages.

St Martins would eventually defeat Oylegate-Glenbrien on a score-line of 5-20 to 0-15 in what can only be described as a dominant performance against last year’s finalists.

It wasn’t the only skill that drew attention over the weekend either. Rapparees star, and O’Connor’s inter-county team-mate, Kevin Foley, set up a point after producing a magical reverse hand-pass in their respective game in the Wexford SHC.
