Wexford man opens up about panic attacks and the impact of losing his mother

Niall Kennedy is trying to do some good, one step at a time…

Niall ‘Basil’ Kennedy, the former heavyweight boxer from Gorey, is meeting up with guests for a new vodcast for his YouTube channel called “Up and at it with Basil.”

The friendly Gorey native interviews guests in an informal fashion before refreshingly uploading an unedited and unfiltered video his YouTube channel.

For Niall, it’s just simply about getting a message out there that it’s good to share.

“If it helps one person I’m happy. I’ve had two people already come up to me in bad ways and I’ve linked them in with Talk To Tom in Gorey,” he said.

On one of the first episodes, former Wexford GAA footballer, Anthony Masterson, opened up about his past gambling issues and the struggles that he faced with that as a result.

This week’s guest is Wexford native, Matthew Dunbar, also known as “Sticks”, who lives in Courtown. Like previous episodes, Matthew does not shy away from discussing real-life issues and the difficult journey that he has faced such as panic attacks, anxiety, and losing his mother when he was just 13-years of age.

The full episode with Matthew Dunbar can be watched below:
