
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning…
Originally, the Irish weather forecaster said Wexford, along with several other counties in Leinster and Munster, will be impacted by the Status Yellow weather warning.
The Irish weather forecaster has predicted that there will be heavy rain on Saturday night/Sunday morning and all throughout the day on Sunday.
Wexford, along with other counties, was originally under a Status Yellow warning. However, Wexford is now under a Status Orange weather warning from 1pm Sunday to Sunday at midnight.
The Status Yellow also remains in place. The Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for warning for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Kerry, Waterford.
With the Status Yellow warning, the forecaster, Met Eireann stated that from tonight and through all day tomorrow, “persistent and heavy rain” may lead to localised flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.” The upgraded Status Orange warning, starting from 1pm on Sunday, is predicting “heavy rain with some intense and thundery downpours.” In turn, some of the potential impacts in Wexford over this time period include “flooding” and “travel disruption”
Motorists, in particular, are urged to drive with caution as road conditions may become quite hazardous in places with the forecaster predicting “dangerous driving conditions” due to the weather.
As per the weather forecaster’s website, the weather warning is valid for 24 hours, from 00:00 Sunday 29th September to 00:00 Monday 30th September.
