Four Wexford were on the successful team and men represented both their county and country in the process.
It was a historic day for the Irish Arrows team as it was their first time ever defeating England in the competition, which was held in Coventry, England.
It was also a significant win considering the strength of the English team. The England team had not been defeated in four years.
The four Wexford natives who were on the team were John Murphy, Billy O’Brien, Tom Kent and Ger Foxe.
