All in Castletown have received the official word…
Castletown were due to take on St Lomans of Westmeath in the Leinster Senior Club football championship.
The Castletown players had travelled as far as Enfield in Meath before they were told to turn around. They received word that their fixture was postponed due to the fog – and unplayable conditions – in Westmeath on Tuesday, November 12th.
Their new revised fixture has now been confirmed by Leinster GAA.
The remaining Leinster club SFC quarter-final between Westmeath’s St Loman’s and Castletown of Wexford has been rescheduled for this Sunday at Lakepoint Park, Mullingar (throw-in 3.30pm).
The Leinster GAA fixture committee decided to restructure the fixtures. The Castletown Junior hurlers were meant to be playing this weekend in their Leinster championship campaign, a team which has a large cross-over of players from their Senior football team.
However, Leinster GAA decided that it’s best to push forward with the football this week and put their Junior hurling match the following weekend.
