Wexford actor wins Best International Film Actor at Film Festival in Jharkhand

Well, it’s safe to say that this is pretty cool…

Wexford-based actor, Fintan Kelly, was nominated for Best International Film Actor at the Jharkhand National Film Festival, based in Indonesia.

Fintan Kelly received the award for his role in Maria Nolan’s film “A Country Divided.”

Maria Nolan’s film is based on based on real events in Enniscorthy during the Civil War.


“Your work has left a profound impact on our selection committee, and we are excited to showcase your talent to our audience on 20th December, 2024, the organisers of the International Film Festival said.

Meanwhile, Fintan has been congratulated by his peers at the Wexford Film Workshop. The Wexford Film Workshop make short films and visual poetry (5 mins – 45 mins) based on family stories with actors from Co. Wexford and using local locations. When their films are shown, proceeds are in aid of local charities.
