Here’s when the Christmas lights are being turned on in Gorey

It’s not long now until the man himself comes down our chimneys…

Ahead of Christmas day though, Santa is busy turning on the lights across our local towns, villages, and communities.

One place that he will be stopping this year, along with Mrs Clause, is Gorey town.

On Saturday, November 30th, Santa will be arriving in Gorey town to turn on the lights for what is dubbed as the “big switch on”.

This magical event will officially kickstart the festive season in town and you won’t want to miss it.

Along with Santa and Mrs. Claus, there will also be elves, and other festive characters spreading holiday cheer.

Street entertainment will begin at 6.30pm with Santa due to turn on the lights at approximately 7pm on Gorey’s Main Steet in Wexford.

It’s a free event and all are welcome to attend. A large crowd turned up last year and on Saturday, an even larger crowd is expected as those ring in the Festive season.

In other news, the Christmas lights in Wexford town will also be turned on soon after the event was kindly rescheduled with help from the Wexford public.
