One professional Wexford boxer has been ruled out of his upcoming fight…
After an enduring eight week training camp, Kennedy suffered an injury in his last spar while preparing which will now rule him out of the War in Waterford card on December 7th in Waterford.
The Gorey boxer informed his supporters on Sunday afternoon that he had broken his hand during his last spar and that he will no longer be fighting on the card.
It’s heart-breaking news for the Wexford man who was hoping to continue his winning ways and go to 2-0 in the professional ranks.
Kennedy told us that he’s “gutted” to be missing out on the card. But despite the setback, he’s already looking forward to 2025, a year that he says will include “massive plans.”
Nonetheless, there are still two other Wexford boxers fighting on the stacked card, headlined by Dylan Moran and Tyrone McKenna in the SETU Arena this weekend.
Wexford’s Dean Walsh will be making his pro debut, while Wexford native Dean Gonzalez Furlong will be hoping to continue his winning streak.
