Top Five: Here’s where you can get the best chicken fillet roll in Wexford

Over the last few years, we’ve been on the look out to find the best of everything across Wexford…

We’ve found the best Wexford pubs, the best beer gardens, the best – and even the best places to buy a 99 ice-cream. One poll we never ran was to find the best chicken fillet roll in the county. Given their popularity across Wexford – and Ireland – we simply had to ask our audience – and the results are now in. The public poll ran via the Wexford Weekly Facebook page from 27 April to 7 March, with 118 individuals casting their vote.

5 – Osborne’s Daybreak, Ferns

Taking fifth position on the poll is Osborne’s Daybreak in the historical medieval village of Ferns, County Wexford. Don’t get it mixed up with the Applegreen placed down the road. The Wexford people have spoken; Daybreak in Ferns is nicer and it’s a go-to place for a chicken fillet roll.

4 – Gala Raheen, Waterford Road, New Ross

At number four is Gala. This shop is located on the Waterford Road, just outside of New Ross. It’s a perfect place to stop for a quick bite to eat, with lovely deli options available. It’s located in a prime location, with many people travelling to or from Waterford stopping here.

3 – O’Brien’s Londis

This popular grocery store is located at Larkin’s Cross, Barntown, Wexford. Their chicken fillet rolls are some of the best around. If you fancy enjoying one of Ireland’s delicacies, then you have to go here.

2 – Londis, Clongeen

Clongeen rarely makes Wexford Weekly lists, but they must be doing something right with their chicken fillet rolls. Receiving over 12% of individual votes on the Facebook poll, there’s no doubt that their customers appreciate the wide-ranging fresh deli-counter – and specifically, their beautiful chicken fillet rolls.

1 – Odlum’s Baldwinstown

Running away with the title of ‘Wexford’s Best Chicken Fillet Roll’ is Odlum’s, Baldwinstown. They received close to half of the total of votes on the poll. This small local grocery and convenience store has everything you need, but you can’t leave here without getting one of their tasty chicken fillet rolls. One user commented, stating that “Odlum’s obviously has the best chicken fillet rolls.” This seemed to be a regular sentiment from their customers. The Wexford public have spoken. If you’re feeling peckish – and want a desert afterwards, you should then go for their famous 99 ice-cream, voted as the second best 99 in all of Wexford in a Wexford Weekly poll from 2021.
