Willie Peare departs his role as Gorey Rangers first team manager

Gorey Rangers are on the look out for a new manager…

Willie Peare, who has managed the team for the last two seasons, has departed his role as Gorey Rangers first team manager. It is believed that he is stepping down for health reasons.

Gorey Rangers released a statement on Monday morning:

“Our first team manager Willie Peare has stepped down from his role and parted company with the club.

Everybody at Gorey Rangers would like to offer a massive thanks to Willie for his dedication and commitment to us during his 2 full seasons an to date this season.

Willy and his backroom team, along with this incredible bunch of players took the club to new heights, including our first Wexford Premier League Title, and two wonderfully historic occasions when we reached the Leinster Junior Cup Final and FAI Junior Cup Final. We will be forever grateful to Willy for his part in this amazing period for the club. We also extend our gratitude to everybody who worked with Willy as part of his backroom team during this period.

The Club inserted an interim management team to look after the first team from last week and they were in Ferns yesterday with the team where we won 4 1 in a very tough encounter.

This is an outstanding bunch of players that have given the club everything they have and they will continue to do so going forward. We are proud of them an know how lucky we are to have them.

Gorey Rangers will be advertising the first team Managers/Head Coach position and other Coaching positions this week. The Club will deal with all applications for the roles and as per official club rules the committee will make the relevant appointments in the new year,” a spokesperson for the club said.
