The War in Waterford card took place tonight…
Although the headline may have been between Tyrone McKenna and Dylan Moran, Wexford boxing fans were looking towards two people. Belfast’s McKenna defeated Dylan Moran in Round 2, and it was a convincing win for McKenna overall.
In Wexford news, Dean Walsh – who was making his professional debut in the boxing ring tonight – had an absolutely perfect start to his career.
He scored four knock-downs in the first round of the fight.
The referee called a halt to it after the fourth knock-down, but realistically, it could have been stopped earlier.
Walsh has made the perfect start on his debut in front of a roaring Wexford crowd.
In a previous interview with Wexford Weekly, Walsh predicted that he should be in contention for a professional domestic title fight later in 2025. Should he continue the way he is going, there’s no stopping him.
