Just one Wexford footballer named on Sigerson Cup panel for 2025

It’s that time of the year again…

Colleges and universities across the country are preparing for their respective Fitzgibbon Cup and Sigerson Cup campaigns. Both competitions are highly-regarded in the world of GAA, allowing some of the best inter-county talent to come up against each other in a unique fashion.

17 Wexford representatives have been declared to play Fitzgibbon Cup hurling for the 2024/2025 season, with seven named on the DCU panel. The Wexford representatives playing Fitzgibbon Cup hurling can be found in our previous article.

Meanwhile, just one Wexford representative has been selected on a panel to play Sigerson Cup football for 2025.

That player is Liam Coleman, who hails from the Castletown-Liam Mellows GAA Club – and was a regular feature on the Wexford Senior Football panel for the past number of years, starring for John Hegarty’s footballers in recent times as captain and midfielder before picking up an injury.

Coleman is a post-graduate student and he will be playing his football with Technological University Dublin, formerly known as Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT).

No other Wexford representatives have been declared to play Sigerson Cup football for 2025.
