A Wexford boxer has his next professional fight confirmed…
Dean Walsh, who fights out of St Ibars Boxing Club in Wexford town, has his sights on his next professional fight after it was recently confirmed.
Walsh’s next fight will take place at the Red Cow Warehouse in Dublin.
The event is promoted by JB Promotions and it will take place on February 15th.
It will be Walsh’s second professional fight, having secured an impressive knock-out on his professional debut on December 7th on the War in Waterford card. It was so impressive that he won an award by Irishboxing.com for “Pro debut of the year” just five days ago.
Ahead of his pro debut, we interviewed the 30-year old Wexford boxer who said that he has his sights on a domestic Irish title fight by the end of 2025.
“I’ll hopefully get a shot at some kind of title by this time next year. I just want to do what I do best and that’s get out and box and to have people who actually know boxing and have been around boxing their whole lives, helping me make my career decisions will bring everything together,” he told Wexford Weekly.
For that to occur, Walsh will have to be busy in 2025 – likely having around three or four fights before he is contention in the pro ranks. With a quick start to 2025, Walsh is starting in an ideal fashion, getting rounds in and hopefully more wins onto his record to secure that opportunity he’s seeking.
Walsh’s opponent for his upcoming second pro fight has not yet been confirmed, however, once confirmed, an update will be shared on this website.
