Wexford GAA club releases pictures of their new indoor astro-turf pitch

It’s always good to have options…

One North Wexford GAA club has revamped and completely transformed their indoor arena with the help of the local community.

Naomh Eanna GAA Club in Gorey, have released pictures of their newly-revamped indoor astro-turf pitch.

The newly-revamped astro-turf pitch has been placed in the hall of ‘The Complex’. They have replaced the wooden flooring that was originally in place with a new astro-turf surface. Unlike the wooden flooring, artificial turf pitches provide a more reliable surface for sports, also ensuring consistent ball bounce and roll, which promotes the quality of the game overall.

It is part of major developments that Naomh Eanna have undertook in recent years, including a new stand on their main pitch which includes dressing rooms and a gym underneath the stand. In 2023, the club were also granted planning permission – subject to conditions – for an additional new outdoor astro-turf pitch with floodlights.

The club thanked the community and volunteers for all their hard work getting the astro-turf down:

“We are delighted to announce the hall has now been revamped into this smashing new AstroTurf. Again, we would like to thank everyone who helped with the transformation and especially those who supported our fundraisers, this wouldn’t have happened without you,” the club PRO stated.
