Wexford GAA clubs reveal fighters for Slaney Showdown boxing matches

It’s not often that GAA events encompass getting in the ring and boxing the head off of each other…

But that is the case for these GAA clubs, who have joined in unison for their club fundraiser.

Two local GAA clubs, and their Ladies clubs, will partake in the live boxing event. HWH Bunclody GAA, LGFA and Bunclody Camogie Club will take on Kilrush Askamore GAA and Kilrush Camogie Club in a Boxing Night on March 15th this Saturday (15th of March) in Bunclody’s Indoor Arena at 8pm.

Both clubs will try to settle the score, but the main aim will to be raise vital funds for their clubs. On the night, there will be a bar, a live DJ and food available for all to enjoy.

The line-up has been revealed for the exciting fight night between both rival clubs. All proceeds raised go towards the development of facilities in each club

Several boxers from both clubs trained for the night, however, they could not be paired with fighters. They include Linda Hassett, Kate Hendrick, Orla Doyle, Pauric Doyle, Pa Mahon, and Paula Swaine.
