Listing all the winners from the Great Gorey Run

The now-annual Great Gorey Run took place over the weekend…

The run is in memory of the late Nicky Stafford, former Chairman of Naomh Eanna GAA Club, who sadly passed in 2021. There was a massive turnout for the annual race which started and finished at the Naomh Eanna GAA Complex and spans across the entire town.

The event, organised by Naomh Eanna GAA Club, had a total of 413 people taking place in the 5km run/walk, while 292 people completed the 10 mile run/walk across the North Wexford town.

Speaking about the successes of the events, the organisers congratulated the winners and thanked the community for their effort in helping to create such a fantastic event. For the organsiers, it was particularly poignant to present the Nicky Stafford trophy in his memory:

“The support from the people of Gorey and beyond was brilliant. The atmosphere was electric. We were very proud to present our trophy in memory of our late friend and Chairperson Nicky Stafford. Nicky worked tirelessly for the club and help set up the Great Gorey Run before his sad passing. His dedication, hard work and enthusiasm will never be forgotten. Naomh Éanna would not be the club it is today without his valuable contribution over many years,” they said.
