Wexford hurlers to feature on GAA+ with schedule announced

It’s some more good news for Wexford hurling fans…

With the Allianz Hurling League now concluded for the Wexford hurlers, their attention has now swiftly turned to the Leinster Senior hurling championship which is only around the corner.

On Monday afternoon, the rebranded GAA+ was revealed to the world. GAA PLUS is the ultimate streaming platform for GAA fans, replacing GAAGo after the GAA bought out RTE’s original stake in the streaming service.

One of Wexford’s games – their clash against Dublin (away) in round 2 of the Leinster Senior hurling championship – will be available to stream on the GAA+ platform.

It’s particularly good news for those who will not be able to make the match and for Wexford expats now living abroad.

It means that three of Wexford’s five Leinster Senior hurling championship matches will be broadcast either on live television, or on a streaming service. Two other Wexford games in the Leinster Senior hurling championship will be broadcast live on RTE. The last game, between Wexford and Kilkenny, however, may be replaced with the Dublin vs Galway game, depending on the results of the round-robin Leinster Championship.

Wexford vs Kilkenny (RTEto be confirmed)

Likewise, if the Wexford hurlers reach the Leinster final for 2025, that game will also be broadcast on live television from Croke Park. Just as with previous years, the top two teams from the round-robin will be placed into the Leinster final.

Speaking on the new venture, Noel Quinn, Head of GAA+, said:

“Launching GAA+ is a result of a decade-long GAA broadcast strategy which has seen the GAA evolve from being a media rights seller, to moderator, to live broadcaster. Taking ownership of our broadcast destiny not only follows best practice but ensures that our members’ growing live and on-demand content expectations will be met”.

“We will invest in improving stream quality on web and app, accessibility features and a new studio in Croke Park – all of which is good news for viewers as we strive to deliver for them”.
