Gorey and Arklow residents go for late night dip to support Snámh don Phalaistín

Residents from the neighbouring towns of Gorey and Arklow took part in a charity fundraiser last night…

The groups met at 9:20pm along the Courtown Beach to partake in a “Pink Moon: A Celestial Wonder” fundraiser. A relatively large turn out showed up, with their aim of supporting Palestine.

Gorey/Arklow IPSC activists supported the fantastic 50 Conradh na Gaeilge Snamh don Phalaistín swimmers at Courtown.

This was dip 16 of 17 on a 2 day dash around the coastline of Ireland raising funds for ACLAÍ Palestine, a core project of the Lajee Centre in Aida refugee camp, in the West Bank in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

Saturday’s journey seen the group of 50 swimming in Balbriggan, Laytown, Blackrock, Warrenpoint, Port Rush, Portstewart, Bundoran, Tullaghan, Mullaghmore, and finishing the day in Killala.

Day two began in Salthill in Galway, before heading south to Ballyvaughan, Ballybunnion, Youghal, Ceann Heilbhic, Courtown, and then finishing in Wicklow’s Bray.

An incredible €55,000 has already been raised.
