Wexford had an excellent start to the Leinster Championship on Saturday when they defeated Antrim at home…
Keith Rossiter’s Wexford Senior hurling side overcame Davy Fizgerald’s Antrim side at Chadwicks Wexford Park on a score-line of 2-24 to 0-19.
For fans though, one of the beautiful things about the Leinster Championship is the quick turn-around of games – and their attention now turns to Round 2 when Wexford take on Dublin.
What day/time?
It’s on Saturday, April 26th, at 4:30pm.
Where?
It will take place in Parnell Park, Dublin.
Is it on tv – or is it being streamed?
It will not be broadcast on free-to-air television. However, GAA+ will be broadcasting the game on their platform. It gives people abroad, and those who cannot attend the game, an option to watch the match live.
What’s the Wexford team?

What’s the Dublin team?
The Dublin team has been named. Two big omissions are the injured Danny Sutcliffe and star attacker, Donal Burke.

Previous championship meetings?

Bookies odds?
Despite the fact that it’s an away clash for Wexford, the Yellowbellies enter this clash as favourites in the eyes of the bookies. Wexford are priced at 8/15, the draw can be secured at 10/1, while a Dublin win can be got at 17/10.
Are Wexford missing any players?
Wexford will be missing full-forward Conor McDonald. They will also be missing Jack O’Connor, who received a straight-red card against Antrim. Meanwhile, Shane Reck missed out on last week’s game against Antrim – but he could be in contention to feature against Dublin. Alongside that, Liam Ryan will likely be featuring against Dublin after being named on the bench for last week’s clash against Antrim.
Who won last year’s game?
In the 2024 Leinster Championship, which took place at Wexford Park, the game ended in a draw. It was a game that Wexford left behind them though. Wexford were five points up with just three minutes to go, but two quick goals from the Dubs helped them to secure the draw. Dublin have been somewhat of a bogey team for Wexford over the past number of years – but their clashes are always close encounters.
How are Wexford doing in the League?
Both Wexford and Dublin won their opening round 1 games. Wexford defeated Antrim, while Dublin survived a strong-test from Offaly. The table after round 1 can be seen below. The top two teams qualify for a Leinster Senior hurling final. The team that finishes in third place qualifies for the All-Ireland quarter-final.
