From Wexford’s two games played in the Leinster Senior hurling championship, Wexford have won one…
On the opening day, Keith Rossiter’s Wexford Senior hurling side overcame Davy Fitzgerald’s Antrim side at Chadwicks Wexford Park on a score-line of 2-24 to 0-19.
In their next clash, they travelled to Parnell Park – but they lost out to Dublin in a thrilling high-scoring encounter in the capital.
Wexford’s next clash (Round 3) in the Leinster Senior hurling championship will be against Galway in Pearse Stadium (Salthill).
What day/time?
The Galway vs Wexford game will take place in Salthill on Saturday, May 10th 2025. Throw-in is set for 3:15pm.
Where?
It will take place in Pearse Stadium, Galway.
Is it on tv – or is it being streamed?
Yes, it will actually. It’s good news for Wexford supporters who cannot attend the game. This game will be broadcast live on free-to-air television, live on RTÉ2.
What’s the Wexford team?
Liam Ryan has been named to start in the full back position. Cian Molloy drops out to make way. Conor McDonald has been named on the bench and could feature for the first time this season. Jack O’Connor returns to the bench too.

What’s the Galway team?
The Galway team has been named.

Previous championship meetings?

Bookies odds?
The Tribesmen will enter this clash as favourites. In most major bookmakers, Galway enter the clash as 1/2 favourites, the draw is priced at 10/1, while a Wexford victory can be secured at 9./4.
Are Wexford missing any players?
There are no reports suggesting that Wexford will be missing any players for this clash. Instead, it’s quite the opposite. It’s believed that both Conor McDonald and Liam Ryan will feature in this upcoming clash against the Tribesmen, with Wexford having a full-compliment to choose from.

Who won last year’s game?
In the 2024 Leinster Championship, which took place at Wexford Park, Wexford emerged as eight point victors. Travelling to Galway is never easy, but perhaps with last year’s victory, they will be confident heading to Pearse Stadium as the team will know that they have what it takes to overcome Galway once again.
How are Wexford doing in the Leinster SHC?
Wexford defeated Antrim in Round 1, but they lost out to Dublin in Round 2. In contrast, Galway lost out comprehensively to Kilkenny in Round 1 and then comfortably defeated Offaly in Round 2. The table after round 1 can be seen below. The top two teams qualify for a Leinster Senior hurling final. The team that finishes in third place qualifies for the All-Ireland quarter-final. The fourth and fifth placed teams are eliminated from the Championship, while 6th place team is relegated automatically to the Joe McDonagh Cup for next season.

A loss for either team would be detrimental for their hopes of qualifying for a Leinster SHC final for 2025 and for their qualification status for the Liam McCarthy. If Wexford lose to Galway, they would be beaten by both Dublin and Galway on the head-to-head basis, meaning their season could be over even if they beat both Offaly and Kilkenny in the remaining two games.
Who else do Wexford play?
After the Galway clash, Wexford will have two more games remaining in the group stages. They will be both home games for Wexford. They will take on Offaly and then they will take on Kilkenny in the final group game.
