All you need to know ahead of the Wexford vs Offaly clash in Leinster hurling championship

The Wexford Senior hurlers will be hoping to bounce back this weekend when Offaly come to Wexford Park…

On the opening day, Keith Rossiter’s Wexford Senior hurling side overcame Davy Fitzgerald’s Antrim side at Chadwicks Wexford Park on a score-line of 2-24 to 0-19. In their next clash, they travelled to Parnell Park – but they lost out to Dublin in a thrilling high-scoring encounter in the capital.

Their most-recent clash was against Galway in Pearse Stadium, which they lost out on a score-line of 1-29 to 2-16 in a Wexford performance embodying countless costly errors and simple mistakes.

Wexford’s next clash (Round 4) in the Leinster Senior hurling championship will be against Offaly at Wexford Park.

What day/time?

The Wexford vs Offaly game will take place on Saturday, May 17th 2025.

Throw-in is set for 5pm.

Where?

It will take place in Wexford Park.

Is it on tv – or is it being streamed?

No, it’s bad news for both Wexford and Offaly supporters. This game will not be on television. The match is also not available to view on any stream.

What’s the Wexford team?

What’s the Offaly team?

The Galway team has been named.

Bookies odds?

Wexford will enter the clash as favourites. The betting odds are Wexford win @ 3/10, a draw at 14/1 and Offaly to win at 9/2.

How are Wexford doing in the Leinster SHC?

Wexford have played three games and they have lost two. Their opening win came against Antrim, but they failed to beat Dublin and Galway in the follow-up games. It means that Wexford’s Leinster title hopes are over for 2025. Offaly have not won any of their games yet – and Wexford will be confident of getting two more points on the board.

Can we still qualify for the Liam McCarthy?

For Wexford to qualify as the third placed team, we will need somewhat of a miracle. One hope of qualification to the Liam McCarthy is that if Dublin beat both Kilkenny and and Wexford beat Offaly and Kilkenny. This will mean that Wexford would go ahead of Kilkenny on the Head to Head basis.

Who else do Wexford play?

After the Offaly clash, Wexford will have just one more game remaining in the group stages. They will be taking on Kilkenny in the final group clash (at home).
