An Organised Group of shoplifters have been arrested in Wexford… 

As part of Operation Táirge, Gardaí in Gorey arrested four individuals on Friday in connection with the theft of over €1,400 worth of goods from a local retail premises.

An Garda Síochána commenced ‘Operation Táirge’ nationwide in December 2023, supporting operational activity aimed at detecting and preventing Organised Retail Crime (ORC).

All four were brought before a special sitting of the District Court last Saturday, where bail conditions were set prohibiting them from entering Gorey. 


The vehicle used during the incident of theft was also seized.

Operation Táirge continues to focus on disrupting organised retail theft, protecting local businesses and holding offenders to account.

An Garda Síochána recorded a total of 8,460 Arrests and 20,052 charge/summons in association with Operation Táirge on PULSE between 1 December 2023 and 30 November 2024, the first 12 months of operation.
