A Wexford football star has stepped foot into management…
Wexford football star, Ben Brosnan, will be on the side-lines as a manager for a Wexford Intermediate Football club for the 2025 Championship season.
Brosnan will be on the side-lines for Craanford/Monaseed for the 2025 season in a managerial capacity.
It is Brosnan’s first year in adult club management. He will be joint-manager alongside John Kavanagh, also a member of the Carnew/Emmetts GAA club.
Meanwhile, two other former Wexford stars will be active in a coaching capacity with Wexford Senior Football clubs.
Kilanerin great, Mattie Forde, is one of the lead coaches for the Shelmaliers for the 2025 football season. Like Brosnan, it’s also Forde’s first year involved with the Shelmaliers. Forde has been involved with underage Wexford squads and his own club team, Kilanerin, in the past.
Another star of that golden generation of Wexford footballers, Ciarán Lyng, will act as the coach for the Crossabeg/Ballymurn Senior footballers for the 2025 season.
The Wexford Senior football championship returns to action this weekend. Castletown are the reigning champions for 2024, but the bookies view the Shels as favourites leading into the first round of the Wexford SFC.
