Archers from Wexford take home multiple medals in recent competition

Members of CúChulainn Field Archery Club took to the roads again to compete in the IFAA Double Flint Round which took place over two days at the weekend….

Hosted by Strongbow Archers at Harbour House Club in Athy, Co. Kildare the weather posed quite a challenge.

Representing CúChulainn were Fiachra Judge, Christy Banks, Claudia Heinze Banks, Hugh Murphy and Peter Gilmore.

While the sun shone and showers rained down throughout the two days, the wind was not very co-operative either. Members of the Wexford archery club described the gusts as:

“the gusts were vicious, turbulent and guaranteed to blow harder every time a bow was raised,” they said.

Be that as it may, all five archers say that it was a great weekend and were happy to attain podium finishes.

– Compound archers Fiachra Judge taking Gold and beating fellow CúChulainn member Hugh Murphy into second place and Silver medal

– SMBBR Peter Gilmore taking Gold  and Christy Banks taking the Silver in the same category

– AFBBR Claudia Heinze Banks taking Silver in her category.
