A Wexford ultra-runner has been selected to represent Ireland at the upcoming World Skyrunning Championships…

Wexford ultra runner David Kelleher from Rosslare Strand has been officially selected to represent Ireland at the upcoming World Skyrunning Masters Championships in Karlovo, Bulgaria.

The honour was marked by a special presentation of the Irish team jersey from lan Conroy, three-time World Mountain Running Champion, who will also be competing for Ireland at the event.

David will take on the brutal Vertical Kilometre race — an extreme test that challenges athletes to climb over 1,000 metres of elevation in less than five kilometres.

The race unfolds on the steep slopes of the Balkan Mountains, a rugged landscape known for its wild terrain, freezing temperatures and wildlife.

This will be David’s second time representing Ireland on the international stage.
