New manager appointed to Wexford Ladies Football team

The Wexford Ladies Gaelic Football Association have announced the appointment of Darren Kendrick as the new manager of the Wexford Senior Ladies Football Team.

Darren’s appointment was formally ratified by the Wexford LGFA County Board at a meeting held on Monday, October 13th, 2025. This crucial appointment marks the start of a three-year term, subject to annual reviews, as the county prepares for the challenges of the upcoming season, including competition in Division 2 of the Lidl National Football League.

Speaking following the ratification, Wexford LGFA Chairperson Denis Nolan thanked everyone involved in the selection process.

“We are very pleased to welcome Darren Kendrick to lead our Senior team,” said Denis. “The interview process was extensive and handled professionally by an external interview panel, whom I must sincerely thank for their time and professionalism. I also extend my gratitude to all applicants who showed great interest in this prestigious role.”

Mr. Nolan concluded by offering his full support to the incoming management:

“We wish Darren and his backroom team all the very best for the coming season, and we look forward to seeing them compete fiercely in Division 2 of the Lidl National League.”

Darren Kendrick brings a wealth of experience, having previously coached at both club and county level in Kildare. He is currently the manager of the DCU DÉ 2nd team at Dublin City University.

Commenting on his new role, Darren Kendrick expressed his excitement and ambition for the team.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be appointed as manager of the Wexford Intermediate Ladies Football team,” Kendrick stated. “It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to work with such a talented and committed group of players. Wexford football has huge potential and I’m really excited to get started, build on the great work that’s already been done and help this group continue to develop and compete at the highest level.”
