A Touch of Glass: The Wexford business bringing bespoke brilliance to every space

Based in Gorey but serving clients all across County Wexford and beyond, Glass Solutions has become a trusted name in custom glasswork and bespoke glazing since their launch in January 2021….

The business, owned by Owen Finn and managed alongside his wife Lynn Finn, has built its reputation on craftsmanship, creativity, and attention to detail.

Lynn explained that Glass Solutions was launched in early 2021 and quickly gained momentum through word of mouth and high-quality work.

Lynn shared the inspiration behind the company and described the wide range of services they offer, all focused on precision, creativity, and customer care.

“Glass Solutions is a bespoke & custom glazing company. We specialise in Glass & Mirror Splashbacks, Antique Mirror, Shower Screens & Enclosures, Glass Balustrades, Glass Balcony Systems and Bespoke Mirror & Glass Projects, all made to measure and tailored to each customer’s space. Using only the highest quality, specially sourced materials and fittings along with craftsmanship, creativity and over 25 years’ experience, our customers are assured work carried out to the highest standard.”

“After working in the Glass & Glazing industry for 20 years, I noticed that more and more people wanted something more personal, unique and a bit different. The area I was always most interested in and excelled at was bespoke & custom glass projects. I’ve always believed glass can completely transform a space, so I wanted to offer a service where quality, design and details really came together.”

Like many entrepreneurs, Lynn and Owen faced their fair share of challenges when starting out. She said that building trust, reputation, and visibility were the key hurdles in their early days.

“Like any business the early days were all about building trust and reputation which takes time. We had to prove ourselves through quality workmanship, reliability and communication. Over time, our satisfied customers became our biggest advocates. Word of mouth is everything so your reputation is your most valuable asset. Getting your business seen and out there can be very challenging! Social media is great but becoming more and more difficult for businesses to use effectively no matter the industry,” Lynn told Wexford Weekly.

When asked how Glass Solutions became established in the local industry, Lynn credited their consistency, customer care, and relationships with other professionals.

“I think it comes down to attention to detail, customer satisfaction, care and consistency. Word of mouth has been key – many of our customers come to us through recommendations which is the biggest compliment we could ask for. We’ve also built strong relationships with builders, architects, carpenters and interior designers whom we regularly work closely with.”

We asked them about the likes of K&K Windows and the likes of WeatherGlaze in Gorey, who are well-known in the window industry – and whether their strong position in the market acted as a detterent for launching their business.

Despite having local competitors, Lynn said Glass Solutions has carved out its own space in the market through its focus on creativity and bespoke designs.

“Both are companies we respect and admire. Our focus and expertise is in the area of custom glass work and bespoke design. We love the creative side of what we do – whether it’s a custom splashback that finishes a customer’s kitchen perfectly or a glass balustrade that adds a modern touch, everything we do is tailored, and that’s what sets us apart.”

Finally, Lynn offered advice for anyone considering starting their own business, encouraging passion, patience, and perseverance.

“Go for it – but be prepared to work hard and stay patient. Building something from the ground up takes time, but if you genuinely care about what you do, people will notice. Don’t be afraid to ask for help or learn as you go,” she told Wexford Weekly.

With its commitment to quality and design, Glass Solutions continues to bring a touch of elegance and innovation to homes and businesses across Wexford, one custom glass project at a time.
