When asked when he first started the company, Ennae explained that it’s a relatively new venture, only setting up the business last year in March 2024.

“We provide all aspects of security to businesses and homes across the South East. We provide CCTV, access control, gate automation, alarms, intercoms, and data networks,” he said.

For Ennae, running his own business was more than a career choice. Instead, it was something he always aspired to do. Inspired by his father’s self-employment, he knew early on that he wanted to carve his own path.

“Being self-employed was something I always wanted to do. Seeing my dad being self-employed when I was younger was a big factor.”

Like many new business owners, spreading the word in the beginning was one of the biggest challenges. Ennae recalls how those first few months relied heavily on the support of people closest to him.

“Initially getting the word out is not easy. It starts with friends and family and then word of mouth starts to get around – and now that is still the biggest factor of the work that we generate,” he told Wexford Weekly.

When it comes to the most in-demand services, Ennae has noticed a clear trend in modern home builds — automation and surveillance are becoming essential.

“Generally in domestic homes we are seeing a massive amount of automated gates in new build homes and CCTV systems then tailored to suit that.”

What truly sets Carroll Security Services apart, though, is the company’s dedication to customer care. Ennae takes pride in being available and responsive to clients long after the initial installation is complete.

“I think what makes us stand out from the crowd is the aftercare we provide. It is never too early or late to get in contact with us. If you have an issue, we will do everything we can to help and sort it out.”

Finally, Ennae shared a simple but powerful message for anyone thinking about starting their own business — advice grounded in experience and perseverance.

“The only advice I can give is to stick to your dream. If you really want it to happen then just keep pushing and it will eventually work out.”
