Wexford Senior hurling team named for Walsh Cup clash against Laois

The Wexford Senior hurlers will kick off their 2026 campaign on Sunday..

The Wexford Senior hurlers will have their first competitive game of the new season on Sunday, 4th January 2026 when they take on Laois (away) in the Walsh Cup.

Wexford manager Keith Rossiter has been dealt a number of blows ahead of the new 2026 season. Wexford’s sharp-shooter, Rory O’Connor, has opted to go travelling and he may miss the entire campaign. Another two players – Charlie McGuckin and Eoin Ryan – have also opted to take a year out from the panel for travelling.

Other members of the panel, including Liam Ryan, Conor McDonald, Cathal Dunbar and Lee Chin have not been named, and Wexford may also be without those players for the start of the Allianz Hurling League campaign.
