Three Wexford players have decided to hang up their boots…
Long-serving Wexford inter-county footballers, Michael Furlong, Kevin O’Grady and Conor Carty will not be rejoining John Hegarty’s Wexford Senior Football panel for 2026.
All three player have retired from inter-county action having enjoyed lengthy careers with the Purple and Gold under various managers with different set-ups.
The trio made their debuts for Wexford in 2011 on the back of claiming an u-21 Leinster title, and between them, they have given 45 years of service to the Wexford Senior football cause – with many highs and lows along the way.
Losing their experience will come as a blow to John Hegarty’s Wexford Senior Football team, who will be playing in Division 3 of the Allianz Football League for 2026 after being promoted last season.
