The Wexford Senior Footballers will kick off their 2026 campaign on Saturday…
John Hegarty’s Senior Football team were promoted to Division 3 of the Allianz Football League in 2025 and they’ll be hoping to build on that momentum heading into the next season.
First up for the Wexford footballers will be a clash against Kildare in the O’Byrne Cup, a pre-season Leinster football competition which has returned this year.
The match versus Kildare will take place in St Patrick’s Park (Enniscorthy) on Saturday, Jan 3rd at 1:30pm.

In related news, the Wexford Senior hurlers will have their first competitive game of the new season on Sunday, 4th January 2026 when they take on Laois (away) in the Walsh Cup.
