Council issues notice of road closures in Wexford town on Sunday

Two temporary road closures will be in place in the Wexford town area on Sunday…

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and follow the signed diversion routes. The road closures will be in place to accomodate the Wexford half-marathon taking place this coming Sunday, 19 April.

Road Closure 1 will affect The Faythe (L3505-1 and L3505-2) from its junction with Faythe Lane (R733-48) to its junction with Maudlintown (R730-35). This section will be closed from 09:00 to 14:30. Alternative routes are as follows: from Faythe Lane via Kevin Barry Street, Parnell Street, Trinity Street and William Street using the R733 and R730; and from Maudlintown via William Street, Trinity Street, King Street and Faythe Lane using the R730 and R733.

Road Closure 2 will affect Coolballow Road (L3507-1 and L3507-2) from its junction with the Rosslare Road (R730) to the Rathaspeck Roundabout. This section will be closed from 10:00 to 13:30. The alternative route is from the Rathaspeck Roundabout via Piercestown, Levitstown and back to the Rosslare Road using the L3042, L3043, N25 and R730.

Alternative routes will be clearly signposted and local access will be facilitated where possible. Motorists are encouraged to allow extra time for their journeys and to obey all temporary signage.
