
The Government have announced additional special education classes for the Wicklow-Wexford constituency for the upcoming year…
On Monday monring, the Government and Department of Education announced the addition of 4 new special classes in the Wicklow-Wexford constituency for the 2026/27 school term. This also includes a new “Autism Inclusive Special Class” at Gorey Educate Together Secondary School.
This brings a total of 9 new classes announced for the upcoming year in the Wicklow-Wexford constituency:
Kilmuckridge National School
Tombrack National School
F.C.J. Secondary School, Bunclody
Boolavogue NS
Gorey Educate Together Secondary School
St Joseph’s Templerainey, Arklow
Coolafancy NS
St John’s Senior NS, Arklow
Scoil Mhuire na nAird, Shillelagh
Speaking on the announcement, Wicklow-Wexford TD Fionntán Ó Suilleabháin said:
“My party and I will continue to force the government to start delivering for Special Education and make them honour the Proclamation pledge to ‘cherish all the children of the nation equally.'” Thank you to all the school personnel for their recent engagement on the issue. There are several other schools needing proper Special Education resourcing and the government needs to do massive work on this issue in the Wicklow-Wexford constituency,” Fionntán told Wexford Weekly.
