Gorey Hire Centre, which has served customers in Gorey and the surrounding areas for nearly 20 years, has officially changed hands, with the business now being taken over by the Doran family. The Gorey Hire Centre supplies tools, plant machinery and construction equipment for DIY, home improvement, landscaping and professional building projects.
Announcing the change, former owner Pat Roche reflected on his time running the popular hire and DIY business and thanked the local community for its longstanding support.
“After nearly 20 years of trading Hire business in Gorey, it is time to call time on it and move on to new ventures.”

Located in the IDA Industrial Park on the Courtown Road, Gorey Hire Centre has become a familiar name locally, supplying machinery, plant hire equipment and DIY products to both tradespeople and home improvement enthusiasts over the years.
The change in ownership marks the end of an era for Pat Roche, whose business has played a key role in many construction and DIY projects across the region. The new owners, the Doran family, are expected to continue operating the business under the Gorey Hire Centre name.
