Wexford’s DJ Ciano welcomes Santa Ponsa opportunity

There’s nothing better than hearing about people living out their dreams…

That is the case for Camolin’s Cian Fitzgerald Byrne, best known as DJ Ciano.

Wexford’s DJ Ciano is set to take to the decks in Mallorca this summer after being invited back to perform at one of Santa Ponsa’s most popular nightlife venues.

The Wexford DJ will play two major dates at Basement Nightclub on July 2 and July 9, marking his return to the Spanish resort following a successful appearance there last year.

Speaking about the opportunity, Ciano said he was delighted to receive the invitation.

“I found out back in April that I would be playing in Santa Ponsa’s Basement Nightclub in July for two big dates – July 2 and July 9. I got a WhatsApp message saying, ‘We would love to have you over again,’ and I was absolutely thrilled.”

Having previously experienced the atmosphere of performing in Santa Ponsa, he says he can’t wait to return.

“When I got asked, I was just so excited. I played there last year and it was just insane – the vibes, the people, everything. It’s so much fun and I love bringing the crowd on a journey on the dancefloor. I’m really excited for it now.”

The upcoming performances represent another significant milestone in the young DJ’s career, as he continues to build his profile both at home and abroad.

“DJing at big events like this is insane, and to travel abroad and do it is another level. Since I was 16, the dream has always been to play in front of thousands of people in Ibiza. That’s the big dream for me. I just love what I do and music is my life,” Ciano told Wexford Weekly.

Also performing across the nights will be the likes of Marty Guilfoyle and John Gibbons; it shows that Ciano is now mixing it amongst some big names. As well as performing to international audiences, Wexford native DJ Ciano believes the opportunity opens doors for future bookings and valuable industry connections.

“This event is such a great opportunity because not only are you meeting new people and networking, you’re getting your name out there in Spain and on the island of Mallorca. It’s just amazing. To be on a billboard in Mallorca is so good, and let’s see what it brings,” he said.

With two high-profile summer dates ahead, the Camolin native will be hoping to make a lasting impression as he continues his journey towards even bigger stages in the years to come.
