It’s some good news for the people and businesses of Gorey…
It has been announced that booming County Wexford town, Gorey, will be hosting the Leinster Fleadh in 2027. The 2026 Leinster Fleadh was held in Portlaoise with the 2026 All-Ireland Fleadh to be held in Belfast, Antrim. It’s likely that the Leinster Fleadh in Gorey will be held in late June 2027.
Local Councillor, Craig Doyle, shared his delight:
“I’m absolutely delighted that CCÉ Tuaisceart Loch Garman has been awarded the honour of hosting the Leinster Fleadh 2027 right here in Gorey,” he said.
“This is a massive achievement and a fantastic opportunity for our town and the wider North Wexford area. Thousands of visitors will come to Gorey for a three day long celebration of Irish music, song, dance and culture bringing a huge boost to local businesses and showcasing everything our area has to offer. Huge congratulations to everyone involved. Gorey is ready to welcome Leinster,” Craig Doyle said.
Along with some excellent traditional music, Gorey town and businesses will benefit from the flocks of crowds heading to the town for the festival and competition.
