Wexford musicians Ruben Buggy and Gavin O’Hanlon are taking on an ambitious musical challenge this Saturday, September 19, as they attempt to play five gigs in five Wexford towns in one day….
The “Playing County” fundraiser is being held in aid of the Bungoma Outreach Project, with Ruben preparing to travel to Kenya where he will use music to work with underprivileged children.
The pair will begin their musical marathon in New Ross at O’Brien’s, before travelling to Redmon’s in Bunclody, Browne’s in Gorey, and The White House in Enniscorthy.
The final stop of the day will be at Maggie May’s in Wexford town at 10:30pm, where Ruben, Gavin and special guests will bring the challenge to a close.
The White House has also confirmed its Enniscorthy performance will take place from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, with special guests keeping the music going afterwards.
The fundraiser is part of Ruben’s efforts to raise money ahead of his trip to Bungoma, where he plans to use his musical talents to teach and work with children.
With five towns, five gigs and one day to complete it, the musicians are hoping Wexford people will come out, enjoy the music and support the cause.
