Tributes have been paid to a 54-year-old motorcyclist who died following a collision on a rural road in County Wexford on Sunday afternoon….
The man has since been named locally with tributes pouring in.
Sean (Jack) Cahill was travelling on his motorcycle along the R736 at Barrystown on the road between Carrig-on-Bannow and Wellingtonbridge when he was involved in a collision with a van.
Emergency services attended the scene, but Sean was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van was not immediately taken to hospital.
Sean was a member of the Rogue Outfit Motorcycle Club (MCC) and was well known among the county’s motorcycle community. He had also been involved in a number of charity road runs across Wexford, both as a participant and as a marshal.
News of his death has prompted an outpouring of tributes from those who knew him, with his wife Linda Cahill paying a heartfelt tribute to her husband on social media.
“Today 20th September my whole world was ripped apart. I lost the love of my life my beautiful husband Sean, not only my husband but my best friend, my whole life, best father and grandfather. It’s not a goodbye babe it’s until we meet again. You have left an impact on so many people’s lives you will be greatly missed and loved forever,” she said in a heartfelt post.
Meanwhile, his motorbike club also paid their respects:

“Jack was a true gentleman, a loyal friend, and a brother who touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. Taken from us far too soon, his passing has left a void that can never be filled and a sadness that words can scarcely express.”
“Devastated by this loss, we are forever grateful for the memories, laughter and unwavering friendship. His loyalty, strength of character, and the bonds he forged will remain with us always. We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences, thoughts, and prayers to Linda, Sean’s children, extended family, and all who loved him during this incredibly difficult time. May you find comfort in the cherished memories you hold and in the knowledge that Jack will never be forgotten,” they said.
The crash has left Sean’s family, friends and fellow members of the local motorcycle community mourning his loss.
