A Wexford woman has been nominated as a finalist for Carer of the Year….
Patricia Vos has been announced as the Wexford regional winner and finalist in Right at Home’s Carer of the Year Awards 2026, recognising the dedication and contribution of carers supporting people across communities throughout Ireland.
The annual awards celebrate care professionals who make a meaningful difference to the lives of their clients, helping older people and adults with disabilities to continue living safely and independently in the comfort of their own homes.
Established by Right at Home in 2020, the awards recognise the exceptional work carried out by carers across the organisation. Nominations are submitted by those who see their work first-hand, including clients, clients’ families, colleagues, managers and supervisors.
Patricia will now represent Wexford alongside six other regional finalists from across Ireland as the competition progresses to its national stage, where Right at Home’s National Carer of the Year 2026 will be selected.
Speaking about Patricia’s recognition, Claire Keogh, Business Manager at Right at Home Wexford, said:
“Patricia brings a calm, caring and dependable approach to her role, and the trust she builds with clients is a real reflection of the way she works. She treats every person with dignity and respect and consistently brings genuine compassion to the support she provides. She is a hugely valued member of the Wexford team and someone who always approaches her work with professionalism and heart. We are very proud to see Patricia’s dedication recognised through this year’s Carer of the Year Awards.”
Speaking about being named Wexford’s regional finalist, Patricia said:
“I’m very grateful for this recognition and proud to represent the Wexford team. Caring is about being there for people in a way that helps them feel supported, respected and comfortable in their own homes, and that is what makes the role so meaningful to me.”
The recognition comes as Right at Home continues to expand its teams nationwide, with the home care provider planning to create 500 new jobs across its network by the end of 2026 amid growing demand for homecare services across Ireland.
The national winner of Right at Home’s Carer of the Year will be announced at an awards ceremony in Galway on October 16th.
