Wexford professional boxer Dean “Speedy” Gonzalez Furlong will look to maintain his unbeaten record when he steps into the ring at Belfast’s Ulster Hall on Saturday, October 17…

Furlong’s opponent has now been confirmed as Benito Sanchez Garcia for the upcoming Unleashed boxing event, promoted by Conlan Boxing and Hammer Boxing.

Irish public service broadcaster TG4 is providing full, live coverage of the event on their YouTube channel. Live coverage begins this Saturday night, October 17, 2026, at 6:00 PM, and the stream can be viewed at the bottom of this article.

The Wexford man heads into the contest with a perfect professional record of nine wins from nine fights, including three victories inside the distance.

A win on Saturday would see him reach the significant milestone of 10-0 as he continues to build his reputation in the professional ranks.

Furlong has been preparing for the Belfast card with ambitions of delivering an impressive performance and taking another step forward in his career.

The Wexford boxer is expecting a tough test against Mexican boxer Sanchez Garcia (17-23-4), whom he described as a durable opponent who will come ready to fight.

Furlong, who is now based in Spain, has continued to attract support from both Wexford and Spain as he progresses through the professional ranks. His unbeaten run has included appearances on major Irish boxing cards, and he will be eager to add another victory to his record this weekend.

Saturday’s Unleashed event at the Ulster Hall will feature a number of professional contests, with Belfast boxer Conor Quinn facing Pedro Delgado Gaytan in the headline bout. For Furlong, the immediate focus will be on getting the job done against Sanchez Garcia and moving to 10 wins from 10 professional fights, with the Wexford fighter already looking ahead to bigger opportunities in the future.
