Wexford Minor Hurlers Book Place In Leinster Semi-Final

On Saturday afternoon, the Wexford minor hurlers faced off against Offaly in the Leinster semi-final at Wexford Park.

In the end, the game finished on a scoreline of 2:17-1:13 in favour of Eamonn Scallan’s Yellowbellies. Throughout the game, Wexford seemed to be in comprehensive control, keeping intact a lead of about five points for most of the game.

The Wexford goals came from Jack Deveraux and Naomh Eanna’s Charlie McGuckin respectively.

Lately, the Wexford minor manager Eamonn Scallan came under scrutiny for his unorthodox training techniques, however, with results, it’s difficult to complain.

The Wexford minor hurlers will now face the title holders Dublin, in the Leinster semi-final on May 13 while Kilkenny will entertain Laois in the other semi-final.

Undoubtedly, after last year’s loss in the Leinster-final to Dublin, many of this minor team will be out to avenge their missed opportunity to capture the country’s first title since 1985.
