After a worrying spike of Covid-19 cases across Wexford, it now appears that the tables have completely turned…
The recent data released by the Department of Health has revealed that Wexford now holds the lowest Covid-19 incidence rate in the Republic of Ireland.
Wexford’s Covid-19 incidence rate for the previous 14 days now stands at 49.4 per 100,000 people. The 14-day incidence of the virus nationally is 145.4 cases per 100,000 people.
It’s absolutely brilliant news for the county after a worrying spike in cases, specifically in the North Wexford area and when the Gorey Local Electoral Area was considered a Covid-19 hot-spot. From the 29 September to 12 October, Gorey had an infection rate of 533.8 per 100,000. This compared to the national average of 206.7.
