The Wexford Senior hurlers are back training just one day and they’ve already picked up an injury heading into the Allianz National Hurling League.

Conor Mahoney, a newly-brought in player and member of Davy Fitzgerald’s winning Mahoney team on Ireland’s Fittest Family, picked up an injury in Wexford’s first team-training session back this morning.

Glynn-Barntown club-man Mahoney dislocated and fractured a bone in his collar bone in a fifteen a side in-house game at Wexford Park today and he is likely to miss most of the upcoming 2021 Allianz hurling league campaign.

Wexford’s hurling league campaign gets underway in two weeks time when they welcome Laois to Wexford Park. The Yellowbellies will also face Laois in this year’s Leinster quarter-final, so it’ll be important for both teams to lay down a marker.
