Kennedy fought Carlow’s Luke Walsh in the final of the Senior Men’s 80kg competition and won by a unanimous decision.
On the same night, in the women’s category, Shauna Kearney from Bunclody was also crowned an All-Ireland champion.

Kearney fought Molly Rowley in the 81+kg category, and just like her Wexford counterpart, she also won by a unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards.
Along with Kennedy and Kearney, Mike Morrisey, who fights out of Sacre Couer Boxing club in Enniscorthy was also crowned national champion at 92+kg.

It marked a successful weekend for Wexford boxers at Dublin’s National Stadium.
